Tuesday

Colored foot

A quick thin coat of colored mortor goes on like butter.

Eyeball measured...

Thursday

Mortar patties anyone?

Working with little 1 part cement/2 part sand balls.

They get flattened into little patties.

They're getting applied to the inside and the gaps get filled in after.

Monday

Merry go round

In keeping with the pottery feel, I built this rig from scraps and bought some wheels. It pivots on a rebar rod.

I added a wooden block to bridge the gap in the concrete for the wheels to cross over smoothly.

Thursday

All meshed up

Rebar frame complete

Chicken wire finished and ready for the next step...concrete

Sunday

Herb garden frame

Temporarily wire tied together. Still considering welding it.

Wednesday

Herb garden

Inspired by the pottery I've made I've decided to build a thin-shell concrete or ferro-concrete planter.
The frame is being constructed with rebar and chicken wire.

The diameter rings are bent by hand and lined up to chalk lines.

The location was slightly dug out.

The profile ribs are bent using this $20 setup.
It's taking about 20 minutes each to bend...
