Monday
Divided in 5
I decided on dividing it into 5 sections. The ferrous sulfate coating worked stupendously.
Wednesday
Bus sketch
Letting the pen intuitively bounce around a bit while returning home on a bus.
Added a couple tones with colored pencils.
Friday
The framework for 8 (or 5)
The rebar framework for the individual planter spaces is in place. Wire mesh will be draped over the frame and coated with concrete to create short dividers. Still considering to cut the inner four spaces out to form a circular space in the center surrounded by four outer spaces.
Sunday
ferrous sulfate 硫酸第一鉄
I wasn't happy with the pinkish hue of the pigment I added to the concrete.
So, I researched how to stain concrete with ferrous sulfate. FeSO₄.xH₂O
A kind of iron salt that dissolved in water. I applied it with a brush and it oxidized within minutes giving an orange rusty hue instead.
Now I just need some dirt....and seeds.

Mortar patties anyone?
Working with little 1 part cement/2 part sand balls.
They get flattened into little patties.
They're getting applied to the inside and the gaps get filled in after.
Monday
Merry go round
In keeping with the pottery feel, I built this rig from scraps and bought some wheels.
It pivots on a rebar rod.
I added a wooden block to bridge the gap in the concrete for the wheels to cross over smoothly.

Wednesday
Herb garden
Inspired by the pottery I've made I've decided to build a thin-shell concrete or ferro-concrete planter.
It's taking about 20 minutes each to bend...
The frame is being constructed with rebar and chicken wire.
The diameter rings are bent by hand and lined up to chalk lines.
The location was slightly dug out.
The profile ribs are bent using this $20 setup.
